The management team consists of CEO Dr. Steen S. Klysner and COO Dr. Kim Vilbour Andersen. Both are recognized in the business for their work within the field of vaccines and biopharmaceuticals and hold among them more than 40 years of experience within academia and industry in this area.

Dr. Steen S. Klysner (CEO) M.Sc. from the University of Copenhagen, followed by a Ph.D. from the Danish Technological University combined with an Industrial Research Degree from the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, including managerial and intellectual property training.

Over the years, Dr. Klysner has held positions at ALK-Abello, Novo Nordisk and Pharmexa, adding up to more 19 years of experience within the industry. Over this period, Dr Klysner has authored a number of articles and patents and established a broad experience within vaccine development, contract manufacturing & clinical trials.

Coming from a position as VP, Director and member of the board of directors at Pharmexa, a public Danish vaccine company, Dr. Klysner also holds experience with various aspects of management, financing and M&A activities.  

Dr. Kim Vilbour Andersen (COO) joined Nordic Vaccine in 2009 as Chief Operative Officer. Dr. Andersen holds a M.Sc. (1987) and Ph.D. (1993) from University of Copenhagen in structural chemistry and protein/ligand interactions. Dr. Andersen has a solid background in biopharmaceutical discovery and development and has held positions at Carlsberg Laboratory, Novo Nordisk, Profound Pharma, Maxygen and Enkam Pharmaceuticals totaling 21 years of research and development in the biotech sector.

Dr. Andersen has a long standing experience with improvement of biopharmaceuticals and is inventor or co-inventor on more than 50 international patent applications and has co-authored 22 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
